Transport Design

For more than 20 years, DDI has been designing some of the most iconic and versatile vehicles on Philippine roads. This includes the L300FB and L300WT utility vehicles, which have formed the backbone of transport companies and small businesses since they first hit the market in the mid-1990’s. Another commercial success is DDI’s AX-Series bus body, which has been adopted by several bus and touring lines, including the famous Fort Bus that services the Bonifacio Global City.

DDI combines computer-aided design with exhaustive testing and modeling to create designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but are robust and durable enough to flourish on Philippine roads for many years.

Mitsubishi L-300XV

With design expertise for two of the best-selling body variants of the L-300 under its belt, it was only natural that DDI would be the company approached by the Centro Manufacturing Corporation when they wanted to produce a passenger van variant of the still-popular Mitsubishi L-300 chassis. With a seating capacity of up to 17 people and a versatile design that allows it to be used for a wide variety of applications from ambulance to school bus, the L-300XV is yet another DDI design that will stand the test of time. Sky Jeepney

Shakey’s On Wheels

The AX-Series design once again showed its adaptability when it was selected by Shakey's Pizza to be the platform for its Shakey's On Wheels concept. Pizza-making and cooking equipment were installed in the body's interior, creating a workspace that adheres to the strictest safety and sanitation standards. Such applications demonstrate how DDI vehicle designs are flexible enough to meet even the most unconventional client demands in order to create and take advantage of untapped business opportunities.[Read More]

Penafrancia Tours and Travel Transport Inc.

The ruggedness and versatility of the AX-Series bus body was demonstrated once again when it was selected by Penafrancia Tours and Travel Transport. The AX body is mated to a Mercedes-Benz chassis, resulting in a vehicle that is extremely durable and reliable. The Fort Bus

Building on the experience and success of the AX Series bus body, DDI was next commissioned to build the coaches for the Fort Bus (now rebranded as the BGC Bus). The rugged and reliable AX Series body was slightly modified and fit over a Mercedes Benz bus chassis. Florida Bus

In 2007, DDI was commissioned by the Del Monte Motors Corporation to conceptualize and design a bus body that would be durable and versatile while remaining economically practical to mass produce. The layout and design of what was to become the AX Series bus was crafted with the help of computer aided design (CAD) technology, before being constructed as a scale model and then a full-size body mock-up. Toyota Tamaraw FX Hi-Grade Aluminum Van

In 1996, DDI was asked by Mega Truck Builders to design an aluminum van variant of the venerable Toyota Tamaraw FX. The resulting design was robust enough to survive torturous durability and reliability testing and earn the 'Hi-Grade' name for the model.[Read More]

Mitsubishi L300 WT

A year after the highly successful L300 FB design, DDI was commissioned by Metro Truck Builders to design another body for the L300 chassis, the L300WT. Designed to be watertight while withstanding the rigors of traveling on Philippine roads, the L300WT was engineered to more exacting tolerances. Mitsubishi L300 FB

The Mitsubishi L300 FB has been one of the most ubiquitous vehicles on Philippine roads for more than two decades. The versatile body design now made famous by thousands of school buses and delivery vehicles was created by DDI under commission of the Almazora Motors Corporation in 1994. Double Deck Mobile Home

The Double Deck Mobile Home was designed and built for the family of businessman Fred Elizalde. The vehicle was christened 'Hobbit II', as it was built to go on many a rugged outdoor adventure while providing all the comfort and amenities of home. Nothing like it before or since has been seen on Philippine roads. A true double deck design, the lessons learned on this project would be put to good use in the conceptualization, planning, and construction of the Sky Jeepney.[Read More]
